One of the rooms found in the first campaign has been almost completely excavated, which is accessed from the hallway previously mentioned, and we were able to document the collapse of the roof that covered the room.

We must also mention that we have found the end of the pavement in a room that discontinues the complex to the west and, for now, it is not well defined, but we can say that it would have been connected to the corridor mentioned previously. It appears to be a space for intensive us or at least for secondary use (given its characteristics).

The west end of the great corridor was found, articulating all the rooms that we had previously discovered so far. As seen during the first campaign, it has a polychrome geometric mosaic floor (representing interlocking swastikas), but it should be noted that its conservation isn’t as good as we would like because it was affected by farming techniques and farming equipment (plowshares, etc.) too often.

This year, the excavation campaign aims to understand the development to the west of the villa structures, which were documented in previous campaigns. For this reason, it has established an area of 200m2 (2152.7ft2) from the western end of the so-called Room 5 or corridor. There are 8 people working at the excavation (all of them work for FORAMEN Study of Archaeology Company): archaeologists, archeology assistants and a draftsman. Furthermore, it has different technical and scientific advisors (experts in numismatics, epigraphy, glass and ceramics, restoration, etc.), among which you can include Dr. Jose Antonio Abásolo Alvarez, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Valladolid, and we especially thank him for his invaluable help.
